This year's theme is "Skillful and Discerning: Cultivating Our Callings."

“Our Lord is the Lord who serves.” This foundational statement, from the introduction to the Lutheran Service Book, underscores the church’s worship. “The Lord’s service also calls forth our service” as pastors, musicians, architects, artists, and other members of the body of Christ. How can we serve God and our neighbor skillfully, beautifully, and with care and concern? How do we operate within our vocations while avoiding the extremes of elitism on one side and mediocrity on another?

The 2025 Good Shepherd Institute Conference will address these questions, with encouragement and application for congregational life together. Plenary speakers include Rev. David Fleming, Kantor Kevin Hildebrand, Mr. Scott Riedel, and Dr. Ken Schurb. The conference also includes three special music and worship events.
