- **Event Description**: Meet us at the riverfront for the 10th annual Fort Wayne Dragon Boat Races! Dragon Boat Racing originated in China and features 21-person teams paddling down the St. Marys river to a rhythmic drumbeat. 

The fun begins on Friday night with the Dragon Boat Opening Ceremony, featuring live music, local food, traditional dancing, and floating fire pits. We are back at the action on Saturday morning when the competition begins! Additional activities include local food, kids’ activities, and more.

EVENT ITINERARY:

Friday, July 31st
5-8pm: Team registration and tent set up in Athlete’s Village on Auer Lawn
5-8pm: Family-friendly activities provided by Chinese Friends & Family in the Park Foundation Pavilion including paper ornaments, calligraphy, temporary tattoos, and more!
5-9:30pm: Food trucks on Harrison Street
7-8:30pm: DJ music at Sweetwater Bandshell
8:30-9:15pm: Opening Ceremony Performances by Fort Wayne Chinese Families and Friends Association
9:30pm: Floating Fire Pits Finale on St. Marys River featuring Summit City Flow fire dancers

Saturday, August 1
8:00am: Team captains check in at Athlete's Village Check-In
9:00am: Captain’s meeting in Old National Bank Plaza
9:30am: Dotting of the Eyes Ceremony at Old National Bank Plaza
10am: 1st Dragon Boat race heat begins
10am-3pm: Family-friendly activities in Pavilion/Children’s Activities near the Plaza/Food trucks on Harrison Street
11:45am*: Lunch Break / Drummers Parade
12:45pm*: 2nd Dragon Boat race heat begins
2:45PM*: Steersman Auction
3pm*: Final Dragon Boat heat begins
3:30pm*: Awards Ceremony
