- **Event Description**: Experience the beauty of the Qu'Appelle Valley in the fall with the annual Fall Guided Hikes event at Echo Valley Provincial Park. Join our Park Interpreters and Special Guest Presenters on four different hikes, make a fall craft, play games and more! All hikes and activities will begin at the Hole in Wall Campground.

Each hike is offered several times throughout the day. Visit the welcome tent at Hole in Wall to plan your itinerary as spaces are limited on each hike. Sign-up is first-come first-served, so show up early to secure your spot in every hike!

Agenda

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Food and Drink Fundraiser Presented by Amphibious Response Support Unit 1 ($$)

Fuel up for a day of hiking with this food and drink fundraiser. ARSU1 will be on site, providing information and demonstrations about water safety and cold-water rescue.

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Fall Craft Station

Join us for cute wooden owl ornament crafts and fall colouring pages to take home! Great for kids or those of all ages looking for a break between hikes.

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Lawn Games

Challenge friends or family to a game or two of Cornhole, Giant Connect Four, Plastic Axe Throwing, and more!

11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. - Brilliant Birding with Wild View Tours

Join Jenn Smith Nelson, owner and guide of Wild View Tours for a welcoming birdwatching experience rooted in curiosity, connection, and responsible wildlife viewing. Along Echo Valley Provincial Park's Interpretive Trail, Jenn will help guests slow down, tune into the landscape and discover local birds by sight, sound, and behaviour. No birdwatching experience is needed. This 1.5 to 2-hour long hike is offered two times and is limited to 10 participants per hike. The Interpretive Trail is roughly 2km and includes steep hills, uneven terrain, and multiple sets of stairs.

10:10 a.m. and 2 p.m. - Living with the Land Hike

Join park staff and Métis land-based educator Angus Hamilton as we talk about the cultural and geological history of the Qu'Appelle Valley and the many uses for the plants that grow here. Hike to a viewpoint at the top of the valley where we'll roast Bannock before hiking back down the valley. This 2-hour long hike is offered two times and is limited to 30 participants per hike. The Mink Trail is roughly 3.5km and includes steep hills and uneven terrain.

10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - Fall Foliage Frolic

Join park staff on this guided hike all about the amazing changes plants go through in the fall. Take in the beautiful fall foliage and views of the Qu'Appelle Valley. This 1-hour long hike is offered two times and is limited to 30 participants per hike. The Interpretive Trail is roughly 2km and includes steep hills, uneven terrain, and multiple sets of stairs.

11 a.m., 12:20 p.m., and 3 p.m. - Amazing Animals Hike

Join park staff and learn about what different animals native to the Qu'Appelle Valley do to prepare for the cold months ahead. This 50-minute hike is offered three times and is limited to 30 participants per hike. This section of the Mink Trail is roughly 1.5km (out-and-back) and takes place on relatively flat ground with little incline.
