Join us on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 12pm at the Fort Payne Coal & Iron Building for a robotics demonstration showcasing our future innovators.
The Gigawatts STEM robotics team is a student-oriented group that competes in FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC). FRC challenges students to design, build, and program industrial-grade robots while running their team as a business. Students grow in engineering, programming, marketing, leadership, and 21st century workforce skills that prepare them for life beyond high school and college.
Our team is made of members from all backgrounds and academic levels, united by a shared passion for STEM education. STEM gives every Gigawatt the opportunity to shape the future. Since day one, our mission has been to expand the impact of STEM in our school, community, and region.
Over the past six years, we have consistently ranked in the top 15% of teams in the world. We have earned major distinctions, including:
🏆 First grade school team to receive the National Space Club Rising Star Award
🏆 Southeastern Region Chairman’s Award recipient
🏆 First-ever team to win the Magnolia Regional Impact Award
The Gigawatts have built a thriving STEM pipeline across grades K–12, leading multiple younger robotics teams while partnering with local industries. We believe in giving back, uplifting our community, and inspiring the next generation of innovators.
