What begins as a diplomatic discussion in a high-end living room quickly devolves into a hilarious and harrowing free-for-all. When 11-year-old Ferdinand hits Bruno with a stick, their parents, the upscale, liberal Vallons and the pragmatic, high-powered Houlliés, meet to settle the dispute with maturity and class. But "civilization" is a fragile thing. As the afternoon progresses, the veneer of etiquette cracks. Alliances shift and shatter—couples turn on each other, men turn on women, and eventually, it’s every adult for themselves.
