- **Event Name**: Cabin Conversations: Cultivating Kinship
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 28 Sep, 2025 at 02:00 pm – Sun, 28 Sep, 2025 at 04:00 pm
- **Event Description**: Cabin Conversations is a fun and educational speaker series brought to you by Wood Buffalo Pride. Each month we invite an entertaining expert in their field, to speak about interesting 2SLGBTQ+ topics.

Cheyenne Mihko Kihêw (they/them) is a proud nehiyaw/settler mixed person born and raised in amiskwacîwâskahikan. Their maternal lineage is deeply rooted in the Driftpile Cree Nation, where they hold registered membership, while their paternal ancestry carries settler origins shrouded in mystery. As a grandchild of Residential School survivors, Cheyenne's upbringing unfolded outside of their own cultural heritage, marked by a journey defined by adversity and resilience. Through personal experiences grappling with substance abuse and street involvement, Cheyenne bore witness to the transformative power of community and the pivotal role of front-line work for individuals seeking support. This firsthand insight ignited a passion for community-based endeavours, guiding Cheyenne to immerse themselves in various national and local organizations. Unapologetic in their identity as a fat Indigi-queer enby, Cheyenne lives by the mantra "Aspire to Inspire," which serves as a constant reminder to always strive to be a positive force in the world.

Wood Buffalo Pride acknowledges that the land we occupy is nistawâyâw, within Treaty 8, the traditional territory of the Cree and Dene Nations and the homeland of the Métis people. We recognize and honour all the Indigenous people, especially Two Spirit people, who have stewarded this land for time immemorial prior to first contact, and who continue to resist oppressive colonial definitions of sexuality and gender to this day.
