About this Event

The Chopin Foundation’s 2025–2026 season of concludes with an extraordinary guest: Canadian pianist , Silver Medalist and winner of the Krystian Zimerman Prize at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition.

Praised for his expressive depth, elegant phrasing, and brilliant command of Chopin’s works, Richard-Hamelin is one of today’s most sought-after interpreters of Romantic piano repertoire. Join us as we close the season with a performance by one of the leading pianists of his generation.

About Charles Richard-Hamelin

Pianist is the Silver Medalist and winner of the Krystian Zimerman Prize at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition. He is one of Canada’s most acclaimed pianists, honored with the Ordre des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Prix Denise-Pelletier, and the Women’s Musical Club of Toronto’s Career Development Award.

Richard-Hamelin has performed as soloist with major Canadian orchestras as well as the Warsaw Philharmonic, Sinfonia Varsovia, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, and Singapore Symphony. He has appeared at leading international festivals including La Roque d’Anthéron, the Prague Spring Festival, and Chopin and His Europe in Warsaw. A passionate chamber musician, he has collaborated with artists such as James Ehnes, Marc-André Hamelin, and the Dover Quartet.

His discography includes twelve acclaimed albums on the Analekta label, featuring solo works by Chopin and concertos by Chopin and Mozart. His most recent release, ECHOS (2025), blends Chopin with Spanish works by Albéniz and Granados.
