This hands-on workshop encourages participants to move beyond perfection and embrace process, curiosity, and personal expression. Using plastic canvas, thread, and optional personal imagery, attendees will explore embroidery as a medium for storytelling, abstraction, and creative exploration.Whether recreating a meaningful image or following an unexpected path, participants will be guided through an open-ended artistic process that values experimentation as much as the finished work. No prior embroidery experience is required—only a willingness to explore, create, and discover what becomes possible when we give ourselves permission to make something entirely our own.Participants are encouraged to bring a printed image for inspiration if they wish, though all are welcome to create freely through color, texture, and form.-----------------------------------------------------------------------Join Hued Songs at the African-American Research Library & Cultural Center.
