🎄 Fort Collins Christmas Bird Count (CBC): Our Annual Tradition!
Mark your calendars! The highly anticipated Fort Collins Christmas Bird Count is returning on Saturday, December 20th!
Join us for a full day of citizen science birding with a goal of hitting 100 species (we typically find 90-plus!). This is the premier count in the area, offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of the longest-running conservation efforts in North America.
How to Participate
The count starts bright and early between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. (some owling groups may start earlier!) and concludes around 5:00 p.m. The entire count circle is divided into areas (A-Q), and you will be assigned to a Team Leader for a specific area to coordinate your efforts.
To register your participation, please contact Compiler Thomas Hall and include:
Your address and phone number.
Your preference for a hiking area or a car-based area.

Post-Count Compilation & Dinner
After a long day in the field, join us for our final tally! We will be hosting a hybrid dinner/Zoom call compilation meeting from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Location: The conference room of the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, 230 Cherry Street, Suite 150, Fort Collins (just west of the Ft. Collins Museum of Discovery).
Come join the fun, help us reach 100 species, and celebrate the end of a great day of birding!
