UNT HSC World Autism Awareness Day Celebration
Join us for the inaugural UNTHSC World Autism Awareness Day Celebration on April 2, 2018!
We will have free events throughout the day, including an information fair (8:30-11:30 am, and 1:30-4:30 pm), a panel discussion (11:30 am-1:30 pm), and a caregiver/self-advocate happy hour (4:30-6:30 pm).
From 8:30-11:30 am, and again from 1:30-4:30 pm, local organizations will be "hosting" topic tables at the information fair, where you can learn about insurance, interacting with first responders, transition resources, supported employment, and much more!
From 11:30-1:30 pm (lunch generously donated by Terra Mediterranean), you can engage with a panel of stakeholders sharing their perspectives on "What I wish people understood about autism". This open discussion is designed to provide insight into how clinicians and community partners can be everyday advocates.
From 4:30-6:30 pm, caregivers and self-advocates are invited to a special happy hour where they can get to know other members of the autism community in a relaxing environment. Refreshments will be served, and respite care will be provided for families who need to bring children.
