Maine Mission Trip

Multiply Maine started in 2014 in partnership with NAMB/BCNE to facilitate a church planting movement in mid-coast and down east Maine. We have since expanded to work with many churches and regions in Maine. We provide missions experiences for teams to work with multiple SBC church planters in various communities and stages of church planting.

These missions include guided engagement in strategic evangelism, community building, and light construction in cooperation with church plants. Daily classroom and field training and nightly worship provided. We include immersive "Maine" experiences for your group including state parks and coastal regions, local foods and cultures. Our intention is that groups gain understanding of biblical missiology, church planting and evangelism and take home training and passion to reach their local communities. Anchor Church (www.anchorboothbay.com) is a new SBC church in the Boothbay Peninsula of Maine, an hour northeast of Portland and 3 hours from Boston. Boothbay Harbor and the surrounding towns are a very popular tourist area blessed with natural beauty, many attractions and events, but only 3% of residents are evangelical Christians. The year-round population of the peninsula is 8900 but swells to 40,000 in the summer with visitors and short-term workers from the Northeastern United States and beyond. Many international students from Eastern Europe and the Caribbean also work in Boothbay for the summer.

Roger & Caroline Ferrell serve as missionaries with Multiply Maine. They moved to Maine the first time in December of 1997 to plant SouthCoast Church in the Portland area. They moved back there a few years later to start Kennebec Church in Augusta. Since that time, Roger has helped start dozens of new churches in the US and Canada as a regional missionary in the SBC and now serves as the Director of Multiply Maine and coordinates church planter coaching in Maine for the Baptist Convention of New England (BCNE). He and Caroline both serve on our board and have been consulting with churches and nonprofits for over 20 years.
