"Life imitates art far more than art imitates life." — Oscar Wilde
For Immediate Release — New York, NY. Composers Concordance presents Imitations, a concert event exploring the many ways musical ideas are echoed, transformed, distorted, and reimagined. Performed by the CompCord Ensemble with Audrey Morse - violin, John Clark - horn, Jay Rodriguez-Sierra - sax/ flute, Gene Pritsker - electric guitar and special guest performers: Daniel Conant - classical guitar, Mark Zaki - violin, Vicky Cheng and Milos Veljkovic - piano
Featured compositions include Gene Pritsker's Everyday I Have The Fugues and Cold Gin Variations, Audrey Morse's Two Part Invention for Solo Violin, Arthur Kampela's Fuga à la Bach and Milos Raickovich 's Bach Travels. As well as works by Vicky Cheng, John Clark, Jay Rodriguez-Sierra, Laura Elise Schwendinger, Marina Vesic, Mark Zaki.
