SMOG is very happy to host a quartet of musicians presenting sets ranging from DIY installations to psychoacoustic trips and electroacoustic drone explorations.

Featuring:

EMIL SAIZ
Emil Saiz is a musician and composer from Spain exploring inner space through sound. Blending experimental electronic processing, electric guitar and psychoacoustics, Emil’s work deals with themes of transformation and dissolution—making use of feedback systems, wave pattern interference, overtone clusters and sound disintegration to create hypnotic, powerfully raw meditative pieces.
His latest release, Cycles of Disappearance—out on Stockholm-based tape label Ruby Harvest—explores the relationship between sound and mind through gargantuan drones and disintegrated melodies that mirror his process of creative deconstruction.
Emil has presented his work in venues and festivals such as Casa Montjuïc (Barcelona), ZDB (Lisbon), Obra Gris (Mexico City), Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza (Madrid), The Listening Affect (Porto), Curtocircuito International Film Festival (Santiago), and Fundaçao Bissaya-Barreto (Coimbra), among others. He is currently based between Porto and Madrid.

ALESSANDRO GAMBATO
Love Me Radically

Venetian performer, composer, and sound designer born ’97. His research focuses primarily on free improvisation and participatory music, using both traditional and innovative media.
Love Me Radically is an autobiographical reflection on emotional addictions, it is a search for a collective, radical and unfulfillable embrace.
Love Me Radically is an improvisational solo performance for DIY prepared multichannel sound system.

LIEW NIYOMKARN
Cyclical, parallel in gravity, sounds of unsettled memory, recurrence, dual reality.

Liew Niyomkarn is a sound artist and composer based between Brussels and Bangkok,  Her work primarily explores layers of sound, repetition of notes, harmonic spectra, and resonances achieved through acoustic string instruments such as the zither and lyre, which she employs to craft various tuning systems. She integrates field recordings to capture the essence of time and the narration of memory through sound. These elements are woven into her sonic palette, highlighting the intrinsic properties of sound—its polyphonic characteristics, slowness, nostalgia, and the manipulation of extended decays and harmonics.
