Kitsch is overdaad, ouderwetsheid, slechte smaak, die we omarmen, een nieuwe draai geven en tot kunst verheffen. 
Voor Silvestrov is kitsch trouwens niet opzichtig, maar “muziek die te laat komt”. Het is muziek die niet probeert te innoveren, maar te herinneren. Dit concert viert muziek die emotie, nostalgie, heerlijk kitsch en het populaire durft te omarmen.
