What is a forest in a world where we see trees as objects and barely catch each other’s gaze in the metro? Other than this particular forest being older than some parts of the city of Brussels it also has a voice. Its presence is tangible in the air we breathe.

Artists and friends Jan Rymenants and Alexandra Duvekot dive into the world of forêt des Soigne in a genuine attempt to liste to its voice and honor its unique stories.

slumberland

With Slumberland, Belgian musician, composer and instrument maker Jochem Baelus has been unleashing obscure, hypnotic krautrock and postpunk colored with distorted exotica, upon us since 2013. Slumberlands tactile sound is generated by a battery of sewing machines, film projectors and other dismantled, mechanical objects. So far, he released a solo album,the 2019 release 'Sea, sea, sea Drifter // See, see, see Drifter', joined by 2 drummers and a recent collaboration with Tuvan voice-artist Sainkho Namtchylak.

But now Jochem Baelus is constructing a brand new sound installation which he takes on the road solo. Expect rattling drones of motoric 'bagpipes' grinding, accompanied by compelling, melodic & minimal compositions and complete stillness.
