Coming to play with and on the Youth & Truth Sound System for Brussels Roots Night #7 are two respected figures of the dub and sound system scene: the France/Zimbabwe duo Earth & Power & Ranking Fox.
Earth & Power is an independent label, producer, and sound system founded in 2017 with a clear mission: to promote conscious and uplifting music, rooted between traditional Roots Reggae and modern dub, and crafted especially for sound system culture.
Originally known as Dub Foundry, the project became active in 2010 through its first collaborations with Zimbabwean singer Ranking Fox, while both artists were living in Northern Ireland. Tracks such as “Don’t You Worry” and “In His Name”, released on the French label I-Skankers Records, quickly gained recognition across the European sound system circuit.
After years of dedicated studio work, Earth & Power Records was officially launched, followed by the construction of the Earth & Power Sound System and a move from Northern Ireland to the Loire region in France. A collective of passionate supporters soon gathered around the project, leading to the launch of the Roanne In Dub sessions in 2022.
To date, Earth & Power Records has released 10 12” vinyl records and a digital EP, featuring numerous collaborations with Ranking Fox, including “Fire Dem,” “Why Are We,” “Sinner Man,” and “U.N.I.T.Y.” The label has also worked with internationally renowned artists such as Mafia & Fluxy, Afrikan Simba, Tom Spirals (An Dannsa Dub), Far East, and Hornsman Coyote — with many more productions yet to come.
In session, Earth & Power delivers exclusive productions and heavyweight remixes inna dubplate style, creating a powerful, uplifting, and dance-driven atmosphere.
Ranking Fox, recently returned to England from his native Zimbabwe, joins his long-time producer for their first session together in 18 months — a special reunion not to be missed.

Earth & Power, c’est à la fois un label, un producteur et un sound system indépendant, animé par une mission claire : diffuser une musique consciente et positive, à la croisée d’un Reggae Roots lumineux et d’un Dub moderne, taillé pour les sessions.
Actif dès 2010 sous le nom Dub Foundry, le projet s’est rapidement imposé sur la scène sound system grâce à ses premières collaborations avec Ranking Fox, à l’époque où les deux artistes vivaient en Irlande du Nord. Les titres “Don’t You Worry” et “In His Name”, sortis sur le label I-Skankers Records, sont devenus de véritables classiques du Roots underground.
Après plusieurs années de travail acharné, Earth & Power Records voit le jour, suivi par la construction du Earth & Power Sound System et un déménagement dans la Loire. Un collectif se forme alors autour du projet et les événements Roanne In Dub naissent en 2022, contribuant à faire rayonner la culture sound system.
Aujourd’hui, le label compte 10 maxi vinyles et un EP digital à son catalogue. On y retrouve bien sûr plusieurs titres incontournables de Ranking Fox — “Fire Dem”, “Why Are We”, “Sinner Man”, “U.N.I.T.Y” — mais aussi des collaborations avec des artistes internationaux tels que Mafia & Fluxy, Afrikan Simba, Tom Spirals (An Dannsa Dub), Far East ou encore Hornsman Coyote, sans oublier de nombreuses productions encore inédites.
En session, Earth & Power distille ses productions maison et remix exclusifs dans la plus pure tradition sound system, accompagné dès que possible de son fidèle acolyte Ranking Fox, tout juste revenu de ses terres natales du Zimbabwe.
Cette session marquera d’ailleurs leurs retrouvailles sur scène pour la première fois depuis 18 mois.

Earth & Power is een onafhankelijk label, producer én soundsystem met een duidelijke missie: bewuste en positieve muziek verspreiden, op het kruispunt van zonnige Roots Reggae en moderne Dub, gemaakt voor het soundsystem.
Actief sinds 2010 onder de naam Dub Foundry, verwierf het project al snel bekendheid binnen de soundsystemscene dankzij de eerste samenwerkingen met Ranking Fox, toen beiden in Noord-Ierland woonden. De tracks “Don’t You Worry” en “In His Name”, uitgebracht op het label I-Skankers Records, groeiden al snel uit tot echte klassiekers binnen de underground Roots-scene.
Na meerdere jaren van hard werk werd Earth & Power Records opgericht, gevolgd door de bouw van het Earth & Power Sound System en een verhuis naar de Loirestreek in Frankrijk. Rond het project ontstond een collectief en in 2022 gingen de evenementen Roanne In Dub van start, die de soundsystemcultuur verder mee op de kaart zetten.
Vandaag telt het label 10 maxi-vinylreleases en een digitale EP in zijn catalogus. Uiteraard met meerdere tracks van Ranking Fox — “Fire Dem”, “Why Are We”, “Sinner Man”, “U.N.I.T.Y” — maar ook samenwerkingen met internationale artiesten zoals Mafia & Fluxy, Afrikan Simba, Tom Spirals (An Dannsa Dub), Far East en Hornsman Coyote, naast vele nog onuitgebrachte producties.
Tijdens een sessie brengt Earth & Power hun eigen producties en exclusieve remixes in de puurste soundsystemtraditie, zo vaak mogelijk bijgestaan door hun vaste partner Ranking Fox, die net is teruggekeerd uit zijn thuisland Zimbabwe.
Deze sessie markeert bovendien hun eerste gezamenlijke optreden in 18 maanden tijd.
Een zeldzame hereniging. Een krachtige energie. Een sessie die je niet wil missen.

Founded in 2005 under the name Dub Fi Youth, the crew built their own sound system in late 2010 and adopted the name Youth and Truth. As the first sound system in their Belgian hometown, they have inspired many young minds, helping to cultivate a thriving scene of conscious reggae collectives.
Driven by a mission to uplift the youth with love and awareness - because the children of today are the grown-ups of tomorrow - Youth and Truth deliver the full spectrum of reggae music, with a strong emphasis on quality and originality.
Having played across Belgium and beyond, from major festivals to intimate underground gatherings, they have also hosted countless sessions over the years, playing alongside heavyweight names such as Iration Steppas, Channel One, Jah Tubbys, and more.
In 2014, they released a twelve-inch featuring Danny Red and Forward Fever, & Rasta We Rasta ; which became a worldwide sound system anthem. Today, Youth and Truth continue to grow, refine their sound system, and expand their knowledge.
Expect a deep and powerful sound system experience, with a strong focus on the message within the music.

À l’origine connu sous le nom Dub Fi Youth, le crew démarre en 2005 et construit son propre sound system fin 2010, moment où le nom Youth and Truth s’impose naturellement. Premier sound system de leur ville natale en Belgique, ils ont ouvert la voie et inspiré toute une génération, contribuant à l’éclosion d'une scène reggae consciente et bien vivante.
Animé par l’envie de transmettre amour et conscience, parce que la jeunesse d’aujourd’hui façonne le monde de demain, Youth and Truth joue toutes les facettes du reggae, avec une attention particulière portée à la qualité et à l'originalité.
Des grandes scènes aux sessions underground, en Belgique comme à l’étranger, le sound a voyagé largement au fil des années. Ils ont aussi partagé de nombreuses sessions avec des références telles que Iration Steppas, Channel One, Jah Tubbys, et bien d'autres.
En 2014, ils sortent le douze pouces « Rasta We Rasta » avec Danny Red et Forward Fever, devenu un classique dans le circuit sound system. Aujourd’hui encore, Youth and Truth continue d’évoluer, de peaufiner leur sound et d’approfondir leurs connaissances.

Voor onze eerste sessie van 2026 verwelkomt Brussels Roots Collective met plezier een aantal bijzondere gasten, voor de Brussels massive en ver daarbuiten.
Op zaterdag 28 maart in Brasserie Illegaal stellen we met trots Youth and Truth voor, een gerespecteerd sound system uit West-Vlaanderen.

Oorspronkelijk gestart in 2005 onder de naam Dub Fi Youth, bouwde de crew eind 2010 hun eigen sound system en groeide de naam Youth and Truth vanzelf mee. Als eerste sound system in hun Belgische thuisstad effenden ze het pad en inspireerden ze heel wat jonge geesten, wat mee zorgde voor een bloeiende scene van bewust reggae-collectieven.
Gedreven door de wil om jongeren te versterken met liefde en bewustzijn — want de jeugd van vandaag vormt de wereld van morgen — brengt Youth and Truth het volledige spectrum van reggae, met een sterke focus op kwaliteit en originaliteit.
Van grote festivals tot intieme underground sessies, in België en daarbuiten, reisde het sound system al jarenlang rond. Daarnaast organiseerden ze talloze eigen sessions, waarbij ze het geluid deelden met zwaargewichten als Iration Steppas, Channel One, Jah Tubbys en vele anderen.
In 2014 verscheen de twaalf inch “Rasta We Rasta” met Danny Red en Forward Fever, die uitgroeide tot een vaste waarde in de internationale sound system scene. Tot vandaag blijft Youth and Truth evolueren, hun sound verfijnen en hun kennis verdiepen.
Verwacht je aan een diepe en krachtige sound system ervaring, met het verhaal en de boodschap centraal in de muziek.
