angelica castelló (mex-at)

angélica castelló is a mexican-austrian composer, recorder player, improviser, sound artist, and magnetophonic tape weaver—an act that, in metaphor and in praxis, encompasses her practice at large.
her works intertwine bits and pieces of life into electroacoustic spells—memories, death, solace, trauma, resilience, fragility, the oneiric, the subconscious—evoking the beauty and challenge of being alive. such spells take many shapes; they sway between instrumental and electroacoustic compositions, woven installations, reverberating altars, abstract improvisations, and performances echoing people, nature, dreams and nightmares, fleeting and ephemeral moments.

aall turned into resonant beings. her fascination with so-called obsolete machines—tapes, cassettes, radios, magnetophones—unfolds with the exploration of digital realms: lo-fi and hi-fi textures, synthetic and recorded sounds, field recordings, and the use of her paetzold recorders as well as of her own voice—recording as an act of braiding memory (lat. recordare).

émilie škrijelj

émilie Škrijelj explores every aspect of the accordion, using it both as a percussion instrument and a generator of electroacoustic material. Inspired by her research into turntables, modular synthesizers and field recording, she brings the accordion into the abstract realm of electronics by manipulating the bellows, rubbing its contours and exploring its extremities.

she played on several festivals such as météo music festival (fr) / copenhague jazz festival (dk) / konfrontationen festival (at) / musique action (fr) / bruisme (fr) / le bruit de la musique (fr) / mozg festival (pl) / densités festival (fr) / ear we are (ch) / sound disobedience (slo) / jazz à luz (fr) / fimav (ca) / sons d'hiver (fr) / music unlimited (at) / artacts (at) / archipel festival (ch) / wien modern (at)……

Augustė Vickunaitė & Suzan Peeters [duo project]

this project is a collaboration between experimental musician augustė vickunaitė and accordionist suzan peeters.

both artists work in the fields of experimental music and sound art. auguste plays using reel-to-reel tape recorders as her main instrument, exploring tape loops, analogue glitches and old technology mechanics, while suzan experiments with extended accordion techniques, instrument preparations and other electroacoustic methods.

their duo's sound highlights the mechanics of both instruments, often mimicking each other. they use a specific spatial setup that physically and sonically intertwines their instruments, at times creating the impression of a single hybrid instrument. the sounds become interdependent, shaped by the mechanical entanglement of tape and accordion within one unified system.

about augustė vickunaitė

augustė vickunaitė is a sound experimentalist who employs vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders to play, record, and create sounds, articulating diverse layers of recordings including found material, field recordings, voice, music instruments, objects, and the whole spectrum of malfunctions of decaying technology.

auguste specializes in tape music, noise, and collage music, known for her theatrical and darkly humorous approach, often exploiting errors of analog audio equipment. her solo work encompasses tape loops and collages of found audio tapes.

since 2016, auguste has been active in europe and beyond, primarily as a solo performer, although she has collaborated with other artists too. she has self released solo cd album "dance alone".
