- **Event Description**: The Armstrong County Arts Council, Shiftworks Community + Public Arts, and Downtown Kittanning, Inc. invite artists and community members to learn more about mural-making and future public art opportunities in Armstrong County.

This free event is open to artists of all experience levels, community leaders, municipal officials, nonprofit organizations, business owners, educators, students, and anyone interested in how public art can strengthen our downtowns and neighborhoods.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The evening will begin with a discussion about the value of public art, the vision for future mural projects in downtown Kittanning, and ways local artists and community members can become involved.

Nationally recognized Pittsburgh Creative Corps mural artist Max “GEMS” Gonzales will then lead a hands-on workshop covering:

• Common professional mural materials
• Water-based spray paint applications
• The “doodle grid” method for transferring artwork from paper to a large-scale wall

Artists working in any medium are encouraged to attend. No previous mural experience is required.
