Youth-2nd-5th Grade (6 one-week sessions from 9-10:30 AM) June 9-13, June 16-20, June 23-27, July 7-11, July 14-18, July 21-25
Must be going into 2nd grade. During this art camp, we spend the week working on our drawing skills using pencils, graphite, specialty erasers and watercolor. From shading, still life, landscapes and figurative, you will see results as we encourage and teach so that you can get what you see in your head down on paper! Each student receives a sketchbook and professional drawing pencils to take home.
Jr. High-6-8th Grade 11 AM- 1 PM (2 one-week sessions) June 9-13 and July 7-11
Entering 6th-entering 8th. Working in pencil, graphite and pen and ink, this week long class will be focusing on composition and improving drawing technique. Looking at Mississippi art in the gallery will reinforce techniques and styles we are learning. Each student receives a sketchbook, pencils and a micron archival inking pen set to take home.
High School-9-12th Grade 11 AM- 1 PM (2 one-week sessions) June 16-20 and July 14-18
Entering 9th-12th Grade During this camp we will be working in pencil, graphite and water-soluble oil pastels, this art camp will be focusing on composition and improving drawing technique. Looking at Mississippi art in the gallery will reinforce techniques and styles we are learning. Each student receives a sketchbook, pencils and a water-soluble 12 count oil pastel set to take home.
Adult-11 AM-1 PM (2 one-week sessions June 23-27 and July 21-25
This summer camp is great for beginners and intermediate adults who would like to grow their drawing and composition skills. Meeting daily from 11- 1PM this camp will include some technical pencil drawing and water-soluble oil pastel figurative and still life projects. Enjoy a week of creative time at Pacesetter Gallery, includes water and light snacks, take home a sketchbook, pencils and 12 count water-soluble oil pastel set.
**Parents we don't accept students until entering 2nd grade, time is well spent working in K and 1st developing fine motor skills through drawing and learning to write letters increasing stamina to draw, accuracy, and length of focus time to be ready to draw and create for the 1-1/2 hour duration of camp. Something to look forward to!
