Vero's own Scotty Emerick in Concert
Scotty was raised in Vero Beach, Fla., with bare feet in the ocean and a fishing line in a bass lake. “It was, an all-American barefoot-boy kind of life,” he says. Emerick played out for the first time at the local Moose Lodge, when he was only 12 years old. By the time he was about 15, he became tired of playing covers by others and began trying to write his own songs. Shortly after graduating High School he headed to Nashville, and the rest, as they say, is history, with number one hits written for mega star and friend Toby Keith, like: Beer for My Horses, I Love This Bar, I’m Just Talking About Tonight, As Good As I Once Was, and Whisky Girl. In addition, he’s written hits for many other country superstars like: Sawyer Brown, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Ronnie Milsap, Joe Nichols, Billy Currington and his friend Kenny Chesney, with timeless tunes like: Troubador, Like My Dog, Boats, Soul of a Sailor, Keys in the Conch Shell, I Don’t Believe in Goodbye, and many many more. Scotty is not only a great songwriter, he is an accomplished singer too with several singles and albums to his credit, and often performing with Toby on tour.
The gates open at 5:30 pm with dinner available until 7:00pm featuring Creative Chef and Reds Kitchen Food Trucks with delicious American and locally inspired cuisine. Food is not included in the ticket price. Opening for Scotty will be local area country great Bruce Hunter, lead singer of Flat Natural Band at 5:30pm and Mr. Emerick taking the stage at 7pm. Sorry, absolutely no tailgating allowed at the winery.
