The Hidden Tempo - Dan Wininger Drums Trance/Dance

Hey friends and fans,

I've been playing hand percussion for over 25 years. I've busked, collaborated, recorded, hosted drum circles, opened for other acts, played at open mics, etc., but I've never had an officially planned solo performance as the feature and only act. So here it is! Daniel Wininger aka The Hidden Tempo is going to play ashiko, djembe, and a wide variety of other percussion instruments in a variety of styles, mostly his own, throughout the evening.

Get into a trance, get into a dance, watch, or close your eyes, whatever you feel like.

Thursday, June 19th
Performance: 9:30pm-11:30pm
Cost: $10 (n.o.t.a.f.l.o.f.)

Because the inception of my drumming is within West African tradition, and the performance falls on Juneteenth, this performance will also be an homage to Africa and the African diaspora.

June 19 is also 6 days after my birthday, so if you want to come celebrate that, that's cool, too.

The music of The Hidden Tempo is influenced by West African rhythm, Hip Hop, Latin percussion, Middle Eastern rhythm, minimalism, shamanic trance music, electronic music, ASMR, avant-garde, and more.
