Champion • Wilds Unknown Champion Playmat Core Constructed The Comprehensive Rules (2.1.1) and the Tournament Rules state that each player’s deck must meet the following requirements: The deck must contain at least 60 cards. There is no maximum deck size, but a player must be able to shuffle their deck in a timely manner without assistance. The deck must not contain cards from more than two ink colors. Decks may contain dual-ink cards, so long as they contain both the two primary ink colors in a deck. For example, if a deck contains Amber and Amethyst cards, it must not contain any Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, or Steel cards. The deck must not contain more than 4 of a single card identified by its full English card name. Cards with different subtitles are considered distinct cards for the purpose of this rule. For example, a deck may contain up to four copies of Ariel – On Human Legs as well as up to four copies of Ariel – Spectacular Singer. The deck may only contain cards that are within the current rotation schedule: With the release of Set 9, only cards released in Sets 5 and later are legal to use in Core Constructed. Cards of the following sets rotated out of Core Constructed: Set 1, 2, 3, and 4. Cards of the following sets are currently legal in Core Constructed: Set 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. With the release of Set 13 (coming in Fall 2026), only cards released in Sets 9 and later will be legal to use in Core Constructed. Cards of the following additional sets will not be legal in Core Constructed when Set 13 is released: Set 1 to 8. Cards of the following sets will be legal in Core Constructed when Set 13 is released: Set 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. Exception: Reprints: If a card is reprinted in a set that is legal in Core Constructed any other version of that card is also legal. For example you can play Stitch - Rock Star of Set 1 in Core Constructed because it was reprinted in Set 9. The deck may not use any cards that are banned from the Core Constructed format.
