We will work in pairs and small groups. The maximum class size for this short duration classis 10 children. It takes place in our science lab at SEER

What we are going to cover:
The Scientific Method
The parts of a Scanning and Electron Microscope
Preparing a wet mount
Preparing a smear slide
Petri Dish Experiments
Animal vs Plant Cell
Dying samples with methylene blue
and the different types of bacteria and microscopic life
Organisms found in ponds

This is a wonderful opportunity to explore a new learning opportunity and make new friends!

Pre-Requisites:
This class is intended for children 8yrs and up. Some writing and reading ability is needed. We will draw out the things that we observe underneath the microscope and learn about what is needed in a lab report,.

Fees:
This class will meet for four one-hour sessions. Each lesson will build upon itself. Class fees are $100 per student with a 15% sibling discount available. The max size is 8 students.

The full fee is due when yo register for the class If you need a different payment schedule please reach out to us at jessie@shoalseer.org. If you need to register a second child please reach out to us directly via email.

This is a drop off class. We are a small business and we have maximized our class space which means we only have a small space for parents to wait, but you are welcome to utilize it if you prefer! Class runs from 1-2pm each Tuesday from June 30- July 21.

Maximum class size is 8 students.
