About Catself:

Finland-based Catself makes songs that tell stories or capture moments in a poetic, but also down-to-earth, straightforward way. Audiences remember her for her distinct, varied melodies, clever lyrics and the special atmosphere she creates. While on the surface her music is gentle, in the lyrics you can notice the underlying darkness – like in nature, where an idyllic forest hides drama, fight for survival, pain and death.

But you will never feel melancholic or weighed down at the end of her show: this journey into the forest of songs is an empowering, soothing and also often amusing experience.

With a background in languages and literature (M.A. in English) as well as nature and outdoors (nature guide course) combined with her imagination and a traveller’s spirit, Catself has a wealth of both inspiration and tools for creating her music worlds.
