- **Event Description**: Join Master Herbalist Karine Gordineer of Green Girl Herbs & Healing for a hands-on, in-person workshop exploring the art of wildcrafting and traditional herbal medicine making.

This immersive afternoon is an invitation to step onto the land, slow down, and begin to build a deeper relationship with the plants growing all around us.

We will begin with an introduction to relational herbalism—the practice of working with plants as living allies. From there, we will move into a guided plant identification walk, learning how to recognize and ethically harvest medicinal plants in their natural habitat.

Together, we will wildcraft some of our region’s abundant seasonal plant allies while exploring their traditional uses, energetics, and medicinal applications.

After harvesting, we will gather to begin the process of turning plant into medicine. Participants will be guided step-by-step in creating simple, traditional preparations, including:

• preparing herbs for drying
• crafting an herbal oil
• creating an herbal vinegar
• a demonstration of tincture making

This is a hands-on experience. You will actively participate in each stage of the process and leave with both practical skills and herbal preparations you helped to create.

Date: Saturday, June 13
Time: 12:00 – 4:00 pm

All supplies will be provided.
Participants should bring a bagged lunch, notebook, and a basket or bag for harvesting plants.

Karine Gordineer, author of Plant Spirit Wisdom, has been practicing herbalism and the healing arts for over 35 years. She brings to her practice the wisdom and influence of her Algonquin and Ukrainian lineages, as well as extensive training and experience as a Master Herbalist, Certified Plant Spirit Healing Practitioner, Shamanic Practitioner, Certified Reiki Master, Sustainability Professional, Author, and Educator.

Karine is adept at blending the scientific and the sacred, the practical as well as the extraordinary. Karine teaches at the New York Botanical Garden online and in the Bronx, and has taught and lectured at the New York Open Center in NYC, the Algonquin Center for Cultural Studies, The American Holistic Nursing Association, The Howland Cultural Center, The Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, Westchester Community College Continuing Education, Marist College, as well as a variety of venues in the Hudson Valley and CT.
