- **Event Description**: Accordion wizard Josh Baca was born into a musical family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Josh’s father showed him the basics of the accordion at age five. (It is rumored that as an infant, Josh would alternate between wake up, accordion, bottle, accordion, nap...a schedule he maintains to this very day.)

After seeing his father and uncle perform with their local band, and seeing his uncle tour worldwide with Flaco Jimenez (King of the Tex-Mex accordion), Texas Tornados, and Los Super 7, Josh decided to make the move to Texas. There, he honed his chops, performing and touring regionally with various acts and continuing to study accordion masters.

In 2012, Josh joined his uncle’s Grammy Award-winning band, Los TexManiacs, and he now delights audiences worldwide with his signature sound. Josh delivers the accordion in a very hip form, while still pleasing the most steadfast traditionalist. 

Josh has performed on “Austin City Limits” and “A Prairie Home Companion” as well as at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, Library of Congress, Kennedy Center, Ryman Auditorium, and more.

He has performed live with Flaco Jimenez, Augie Meyers, Colin Hays (Men At Work), Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, Kevin Fowler, Grupo Fantasma, Tom Russell, Bob Schneider, Garrison Keillor, Joe Ely, Los Super 7, and many others.

Josh’s mission is to prove how cool and versatile the accordion truly is. He is delighted to teach workshops and perform educational outreach for festivals and schools. At age 24, he was a master instructor for the 2016 Folk Alliance Conference.
