What does a musical family do during the holidays? “We play music! HECK… we play music all year long!” Dad, Kerry Patrick Clark said. Kerry is a former member of the New Christy Minstrels, a Martin Guitar Preferred Artist and the singer/songwriter of the #1 folk song of 2014, In A Perfect World. He is also a very familiar face on stages in NW Ohio.
Kerry and his wife, Amy met while she was performing in Lend Me A Tenor (a slap-stick musical The Waterville Playshop presented). They were instantly connected by a shared love of singing and performing! Amy, an incredible talent in her own right, would take occasional castings with local theater groups. The two bonded over their love of music and family and were married in 1996. Amy has been featured on several of Kerry’s 9 albums and in 2022, they gave birth to their son, Robbie.
“I could not go to many concerts because Robbie would be dancing in my belly…” laughed Amy. Robbie Clark (@RobbieClarkMusic) was a 2021 graduate of The Toledo School For The Arts and quickly found his way to the guitar. “He is a truly gifted, natural performer! And MAN! You should here the songs he writes.” Boasts his proud father, Kerry. Robbie was an American Idol contestant in 2022 and while he did not make past the in-person judges audition, he used that experience to fuel his passions for performing and writing.
“Given the craziness of this past year, I think all 3 of us wanted the songs, silliness and sacredness of Christmas to be shared.” said Kerry.
