The Second Annual NCT Kayaking & Hiking Adventure combines approximately 10–11 miles of hiking on the Fife Lake section of the North Country Trail, an approximately 10-mile paddle on the Manistee River, and an approximately 18-mile paddle on the Boardman River. This is more than a weekend on the water. It is a true Northern Michigan adventure combining forest trails, camping, moving water, and miles of some of the most beautiful country in the state. This is a self-supported paddle. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🚣 SUNDAY β€” BOARDMAN RIVER PADDLE | APPROX. 18 MILES Sunday brings the final and longest paddling leg of the expedition with an approximately 18-mile Boardman River paddle. πŸ›Ά Distance: Approximately 18 miles The Boardman provides a spectacular finale to the weekend, winding through Northern Michigan forests and showcasing the scenery that makes this region such a special destination for paddlers. At approximately 18 miles, this is a substantial day on the water. Participants completing the full expedition should be prepared for three consecutive days of physical activity, including roughly 38–39 miles of combined hiking and paddling. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION West Michigan Kayaking Club events are self-supported. They are not guided trips. Every participant is responsible for their own equipment, skills, physical fitness, transportation, food, water, navigation, and personal safety. 🦺 A properly fitted PFD must be worn at all times while on the water. 🚫 Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited during WMKC events. This is a zero-tolerance rule.
