Everyone is welcome, whether you're a Chamber member, run a business anywhere in Surrey, or you're simply curious and fancy a good night out for a good reason. We've teamed up with for an evening called Beyond the Cork: discover, taste, enjoy. What to expectThe evening starts with a glass of fizz on arrival, followed by a guided tasting of six further wines, each introduced by a qualified wine expert. Rather than sticking to one country or grape, the lineup takes you on a journey, tasting a range of wines from the cheap to the not so cheap, in price as well as in quality, starting with approachable, good value everyday wines and building towards some genuinely unusual discoveries and a couple of premium bottles. This isn't a formal wine lecture, and you don't need to know anything about wine to enjoy it. Beyond the Cork's Simon Benstead will introduce each wine to the room, sharing a little about where it's from and what to look for, before everyone's free to mingle, taste and chat. Simon will move around the room throughout the evening, so there's plenty of chance to ask questions or just talk wine.Wines tasted on the night will also be available to order afterwards, so if you discover a new favourite, you won't have to say goodbye to it at the end of the evening.Who should come alongThis one's for you if you like meeting new people in a setting that doesn't feel like a stand-up networking event.
