Da oltre quarant’anni protagonista sui palchi di tutto il mondo, il trombettista, compositore e stimatissimo docente Ralph Alessi è oggi uno dei musicisti più rilevanti e influenti della scena internazionale. La sua formazione classica, ne ha definito il suono cristallino e l’intonazione perfetta, la sua esperienza professionale alla corte del più ricercato jazz newyorchese, ha fatto il resto. Per anni a fianco di Uri Caine, Steve Coleman, Don Byron e Fred Hersch nonchè leader di progetti musicali sempre a fuoco assieme a Ravi Coltrane, Jason Moran, Gary Versace, Drew Gress e Nasheet Waits, Alessi torna al Torrione per presentare il suo ultimo lavoro per ECM Records. Lo accompagnano, così come in studio, quattro pesi massimi come Ches Smith, John Hebert e Matt Mitchell, tutti a loro volta stimatissimi compositori e improvvisatori. Il risultato è una musica intensa e stratificata, che richiede e premia un ascolto attento, offrendo al pubblico un’esperienza sonora sofisticata, dinamica e profondamente contemporanea.
