In this engaging and practical workshop, Jackie Kloosterboer, Disaster Preparedness Expert, shares simple, proven steps to help you and your family stay safe no matter what comes your way. With over 30 years of experience helping communities prepare for wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and other disasters, Jackie makes preparedness easy and accessible for everyone. You’ll walk away inspired, informed, and ready to take action — because being prepared isn’t scary, it’s peace of mind.

Jackie Kloosterboer has been on the front lines of disaster preparedness, providing Emergency Support Services (ESS) to families and their pets forced to flee their homes. Among her awards is the 2019 Pacific Northwest Preparedness Society Award of Excellence, which recognizes her outstanding dedication to providing Emergency Support Services and Emergency Preparedness Education to the people and communities of British Columbia. Jackie has facilitated hundreds of training programs on Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Support Services across British Columbia communities.
