Ferndale Fire Department is set to participate as an exhibitor at the highly anticipated AG Day 2025 bringing an important educational component to the event. The department will be demonstrating essential First Aid techniques, specifically geared toward K-5 students from Humboldt and Del Norte Counties.
Known for our dedication to public safety and community education, our exhibit will offer a unique, hands on opportunity for the youngest attendees to learn vital, potentially life saving skills in a fun and engaging environment. While AG Day is focused on celebrating local agriculture and natural resources, the integration of public safety demonstrates a holistic approach to community well being and preparedness.
Assistant Chief Jessica Felse commented, "We are thrilled to bring our expertise to AG Day. While the kids are learning about farming and ranching, they'll also get to practice basic First Aid. Knowing how to react in an emergency is a skill for life, and we believe in starting that education early."
The demonstration is being developed to be interactive and age appropriate, covering fundamental concepts such as calling 911, how to handle minor cuts and scrapes, and recognizing when someone needs help. This initiative is a proactive step by Ferndale Fire to increase preparedness in local schools and homes across Humboldt and Del Norte.
