There will be information on how Nassau residents can get invovlved with these efforts by learning local frog and toad calls, as well as other ways to get involved with local flora and fauna, including City Nature Challenge which is taking place April 24 - 27, 2026!

Our Speaker, Jamie Lynn Lankenau. Jamie Lynn holds a B.A. Environmental Studies, Northern Michigan University, 2017. She is a graduate of Project Dragonfly's Global Field Program (2017 cohort) and now serves as the Community Engagement Supervisor at the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens (JZBG), where she has managed and facilitated the Advanced Inquiry Program since 2020. Her role at JZBG also includes managing a teen leadership development program, adult educational programming and community science initiatives. Jamie came to the lush Southeast by way of the Midwest, having spent time in the Ohio River Valley as an outdoor educator followed by a couple transient years as an interpretive park guide with the National Wildlife Refuge System. She is originally from inland Southern California, where camping trips to the Sierra Nevada Mountains first sparked her adoration of nature and the adoration of all things wild.
