🥾 MEET UP TIME: 8:45 AM/ parking
🥾 MEET UP SPOT: Main Visitor Parking Area near the Fort entrance
🥾 START TIME: We begin walking toward the Fort at 9:00 AM
🥾 PARK HOURS: Opens at 8:00 AM
🥾 FORT HOURS: Opens at 9:00 AM
🥾 ENTRANCE FEE: $6 per vehicle at the main gate
🥾 FORT ENTRANCE: Additional $2.50 per person to enter the historic Fort

🥾 HIKE PLAN AND ROUTE
1. Fort Visit (starts at 9:00 AM)
• We will begin by walking to the Fort and exploring the historic area
• People can enjoy the history, views, and take pictures
• Approximate time inside: 30 to 45 minutes
2. One Mile Loop Near the Fort
• After visiting the Fort, we will do the short one mile trail right next to the Fort
• This is good for everyone, including families, first timers, and anyone who prefers a short walk
3. Optional Longer Hike (~6 miles)
• For hikers who want more miles, Ronald will guide the optional 6 mile route
• This can include the forest trail and beach or dune area
• People who do not want the 6 mile hike can stay around the Fort area and keep exploring or relax
4. Optional Lunch After the Hike
• After the hike, people who want to join can go eat together in Fernandina Beach (This is optional)

• Water
• Sunblock
• Bug spray
• Light snacks
• Comfortable shoes. Hiking boots are recommended for uneven terrain.
• Hiking sticks if needed
• Layered clothing for cool weather (morning around 50 to 60 degrees)
• Hat or sunglasses
