WHAT: Prairie Wetlands Learning Center Hike and Lunch

Early morning hike – 8 a.m. start
Mid-morning hike – 10 a.m. start
Lunch – 11:30 a.m.

602 State Highway 210 East, Fergus Falls, MN
(Take Interstate 94 exit 57 and follow the signs.)
Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter is inviting the community to join us on a walk to explore the trails and find birds at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center (PWLC) near Fergus Falls. This is a lovely place with nice walking trails to look for grassland birds, waterfowl, and other songbirds. The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center has 330 acres of native and restored prairie, 28 wetlands and 3.5 miles of trails.
We will have 3 start times to accommodate different needs.
If you would like an early morning hike, plan to meet up with others at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria at 8 a.m. to carpool to the PWLC. Hiking will start at 9 a.m. at the PWLC and then be back at the Learning center at 11:30 a.m. for lunch.
If you want a later start and a shorter hike, meet up with others at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center at 10 a.m. This group will do a short loop on an easy paved walking trail and then come back to the Learning Center at 11:30 a.m. for lunch.
If you want to join us just for the lunch and conversation time, meet us at 11:30 a.m. at the PWLC.
Plan to bring your binoculars, beverages, lunch, and a lawn chair. There is no potable water at the center. There will be a porta potty located by the barn. The Learning Center will not be open. If it is sunny or rainy, there will be a set of stairs to go down to get under the deck area for our lunch time. We will hold this event rain or shine.
