Otter Tail County Poverty Simulation

Otter Tail County is excited to partner with MAHUBE-OTWA to offer an employer and workforce-focused Poverty Simulation. Get ready to immerse yourself in a unique simulation that sheds light on the challenges faced by individuals living in poverty. Join us for the Poverty Simulation following the Otter Tail County Workforce Summit (otc-workforce-summit-2025.eventbrite.com).

This in-person experience will be held at M State's Fergus Falls campus for attendees of the Workforce Summit and partners looking to gain insights into the experience of clients, employees, and community members navigating poverty. This event aims to educate and raise awareness about poverty in our community and navigating barriers to employment.

Who should attend?

Employers, school and education partners, local government officials, workforce partner agencies, and anyone looking to gain awareness about the experiences and challenges of individuals living in poverty.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Poverty Simulation is a hands-on, group-based experience, and every participant plays an important role. When you sign up, you’re committing to being part of the full event and to engaging fully in the simulation.

The program will start at 1:00 PM, following a lunch break for attendees of the Workforce Summit.
