Artist Sally Schmett will guide you through two instructional videos—a detailed blending technique how-to and a complete step-by-step demonstration—showing you how to build a finished ocean seascape using soft pastels.

Along the way, you’ll learn how to layer color to create depth, explore the difference between using a pastel on its side and on point, and practice blending techniques to achieve soft transitions and movement in your piece. Soft pastels are easy to work with and blend beautifully, making them a great medium for beginners (just be mindful, they can be a bit dusty!).

This course is designed to fit your schedule: learn at your own pace, in your own space, and revisit the videos as often as you’d like. No prior experience needed, just explore, experiment, and enjoy the process of creating!

Upon registration, you will receive a link to online class and can pick up your supplies in person at Traditional Arts Today.
