Fishing is a powerful way to create strong bonds, have meaningful conversation, and enjoy time in nature. Not only will participants learn a new skill, but families will be introduced to strength spotting- identifying the unique character strength within themselves and family members. Strength spotting enables a shift in family focus and attention from negative bias to positive sentiment override. Children and teenagers who have parents who help them identify and use their character strengths have greater confidence, persistence, life satisfaction, healthier friendships, and manage stressful situations with greater resilience.This workshop is a hands-on learning experience for all, to include fishing on the center’s stocked ponds.
