Celebrate National Boating and Fishing Week with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission at our biggest family-friendly fishing event of the year! Join us for the 2025 Fin-Tastic Fishing Festival at the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center—a day packed with excitement, discovery, and unforgettable memories for the whole family.
This free event is perfect for families with children 15 and under, offering more than a dozen hands-on, interactive exhibits and demonstrations that make learning about fishing fun and engaging. It's not just about casting lines—it's about connecting with nature, discovering the importance of conservation, and building lifelong outdoor skills.

WRC Fisheries Biologists (electrofishing) Display
Casting contests with cool prizes
BB gun range and kayaking adventures
Boating simulator, fly-fishing, and fly-tying stations
Lure-making, fishing knot tutorials, and Leave No Trace education
