This September 11th, IAFF Local 417 is proud to stand together with our community to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as all the police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and civilians we lost on 9/11.

Join us for the Hero Challenge Stair Climb as we climb or walk the equivalent of 110 stories (approximately 2,200 steps)—a powerful tribute to the courageous ascent made by the FDNY that day.

This event is open to firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, military personnel, and members of the public. Whether you climb in turnout gear, a uniform, or workout clothes, every step is taken in remembrance of those who never came home.

🚨 The Challenge Is On! 🚨

IAFF Local 417 is challenging every neighboring fire department, police department, EMS agency, and union local to accept the Hero Challenge. Gather your crews, wear your department shirts, bring your families, and show our communities that we never forget.

Tag another department or agency and challenge them to join you. Let’s fill the stadium with first responders and community members united in honor, remembrance, and service.
