- **Event Description**: This month we are delighted to welcome back saxophonist Jonny Ford and his brother Chris on trombone. 

Jonny Ford is a saxophonist, composer/arranger, band leader, educator and multi-instrumentalist based in London. Recently graduating from the Royal Academy of Music with first class honours in jazz performance (2020), Jonny leads his own band the Jonny Ford Jazz Orchestra as well as working with such talent as the NDR Big Band, Gareth Lockrane Big Band, Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Glen Miller Memorial Orchestra and Nigel Price at venues across the UK and Europe including Ronnie Scott’s, EFG London Jazz Festival, Royal Albert Hall, Barbican, Cadogan Hall, Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho and the 606 Club. During his studies at Chetham’s School of Music, Jonny was one of two UK students chosen to attend the Internationally renowned Brubeck Institute Summer Jazz Colony 2015, in California, receiving tuition from Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Stefon Harris, Matt Brewer, and the Ed Simon Trio.

Chris is an active freelance trombonist with a varied career that includes performing with the Halle Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Dave Weckl and the Steve Waterman Big Band. Chris graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2017, where he studied with Amos Miller, Lindsay Shilling, Graham Lee, Richard Edwards (jazz) and Martin Shaw (jazz). Before that he studied at Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal College of Music Department. Alongside a busy performing carrer, Chris teaches at Harrow School, Wimbledon High School and Surrey Arts.

Please join the house trio of David Kirby – piano, Marianne Windham – bass and Alex Forsyth – sax/flute. Entry £10 on the door.
Doors will open at 12.30 and if you wish to purchase food and drink from the Maltings Café to bring into the performance, please allow enough time. Thank you!
