Week 1: Breathwork, Yoga and Mindfulness
- Warm-Up: Gentle stretching and breathing exercises to prepare the body and mind.
- Sun Salutation: A series of yoga poses to energise and invigorate.
- Theme Poses: Fun and creative poses related to a chosen theme.
- Game: A playful activity to engage the children and promote teamwork.
- Challenge Poses: Partner or group poses to encourage cooperation and trust.
- Savasana: A guided relaxation to end the session, promoting calm and inner peace.
Week 2: Creative Drawing
- Introduction to Drawing and Talking: Explanation of the therapeutic approach and its benefits.
- Creative Drawing: Using art materials to express emotions and experiences.
- Non-Verbal Communication: Exploring feelings through drawing rather than words.
- Symbolic Resolution: Finding symbolic solutions to conflicts and challenges.
- Healing Through Art: Using art as a tool for emotional processing and healing.
Week 3: Integration of Yoga and Drawing
- Breath and Brush: Combining breath work with creative drawing.
- Mindful Movement: Incorporating yoga poses into the drawing process.
- Expressive Art: Encouraging children to express themselves through art and movement.
- Body-Mind Connection: Understanding the link between physical and emotional well-being.
- Creative Expression: Fostering creativity and self-expression through art and yoga.
Week 4: Reflection and Celebration
- Yoga Toolkits to Take Home: Working through exercises learned throughout the course duration to ensure self-toolkits are in place to support daily life post-course.
- Sharing Circle: Reflecting on the course, sharing experiences, and moving through all that has been learned, to take away as long lasting toolkits for life.
- Celebrating Creativity: Displaying the children’s artwork and celebrating their creativity, plus recognising each child’s participation and growth.
- Gratitude Practice: Expressing gratitude for the journey and the connections made.
- Closing Meditation: A final moment of mindfulness and relaxation.
