? Hero Appreciation Day (Aug 12) Schedule of Events

8 AM - 12 PM - Hero Appreciation Day Reception
Location: Ahlberg Hall Museum (indoors)
?Coffee and donuts (while supplies last). Visit with fellow heroes and local vendors that support our servicemen and women and first responders. 

8 AM - Flag Raising Ceremony
Location: Ahlberg Hall Museum flag post (outdoors)

12:30 PM - Trolley Ride ?
Location: Dakota Village (meet at the Drugstore building)
Heroes are invited to board the Dakota Village trolley to be honored in the 1 PM tractor parade through Dakota Village.

?Free live music throughout the day including Trainwreck Duo, Pour Cousin John, Ben Aaron, Foster Grand, Earl’s Country Corner, and Drake Walters (DakotaCountyFair.org/Music)

?7:00 PM - Rodeo (Grandstand Tickets required)
Military Personnel, Veterans and their immediate families can pick-up FREE tickets at the Info Booth, starting at 8AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, while supplies last! Please bring military ID or proof of service.

FAIR ADMISSION AND PARKING
?General Fair Admission: FREE all week August 10-16, 2026, thanks to our generous sponsors! 
?Parking: $10/carload, $20/busload 

ACCESSIBILITY - dakotacountyfair.org/accessibility
-Courtesy carts run throughout the day—just flag one down for a lift!
-Scooters for rent (available on a first-come basis) - $50/4 hours, $85/8 hours, $15/additional hour
-Momentum Refresh accessible restrooms will be onsite all week
