Carl Bledsoe is a renowned horseman and clinician that brings compassion, empathy and decades of equine experience to every clinic he teaches. Carl was awarded the 2022 Humane Horseman of the Year for his outstanding commitment to protecting America's equines.
His teachings focus on:
Soft feel and subtle cues: He encourages riders to use gentle, subtle cues to communicate with their horses, rather than relying on force or coercion.
Horse-led learning: He allows horses to take the lead in learning process, encouraging them to think and problem-solve.
Horse behavior and body language: He emphasizes understanding horse behavior, body language and, emotional states to build a deeper connection and improve communication.
Holistic approach: He considers the physical, emotional and mental well-being of the horse, aiming to create a balanced and confident equine partner by stressing the importance of understanding anatomy and biomechanics.
Rider self-awareness and development: He encourages riders to cultivate self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and physical awareness to improve their horsemanship skills.
