- **Event Description**: Step into the art of sword movement in this beginner-friendly three-week series! Co-taught by Mersadees & Kenshin! Participants will learn foundational sword handling, basic techniques, safety practices, and movement sequences designed to build confidence, coordination, and stage presence. Whether you're interested in performance, dance, cosplay, theater, or simply exploring a new skill, this workshop provides a fun and supportive environment to develop your sword fundamentals.

No prior experience is required!  Most benefit gained by attending all three sessions, or come when you're able.

Free flow (Open Gym) afterward from 9:15-10 pm for attendees!

More about guest instructors Mersadees and Kenshin:

Mersadees Adell is a professional performer, dancer, and movement artist with a background in fire performance, aerial arts, and stage production. In addition to her experience with fire props, aerial apparatuses, and performance choreography, Mersadees has trained in sword movement and stage combat techniques, incorporating sword work into performance-based movement and character-driven storytelling. Her teaching focuses on safety, body awareness, fluid movement, and helping students build confidence while developing new skills in a supportive environment.

Kenshin has 20+ years of practice with the Jian. Using wushu styled movements to create a freestyle dance flow with expressive sword flourishes and sweeping movement.  

The SLC Circus Center is located at Trolley Square - 602 E 500 S Unit C-106 SLC 84102, on the West side of the Whole Foods building, directly left of Pottery Barn. Free parking on site.
