The City of Faribault is inviting members of the community to gather at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the Paradise Center for the Arts for its monthly Council Chat.
The Paradise Center for the Arts is a collaborative center of artistic activity in downtown Faribault which offers art education, gallery exhibitions, and live performances of music, theater, comedy, and other artistic opportunities for all ages.
The City and the Paradise have continued to work together for decades to ensure our community has access to performing and visual arts programming within Faribault.
Beginning in 1999, the City began providing civic and nonprofit organizations – including the Paradise – with financial assistance to ensure our community continues to retain access to enrichment and recreational opportunities outside of the City’s scope of services.
In 2021, the City adjusted this ongoing, annual agreement to assist the Paradise with a one-time, up-front payment to help eliminate its mortgage debt, and as a result, allow the organization to further wrap its arms further around its programming, versus an annual payment like other organizations within our community receive.
During the Council Chat, Paradise and City staff will provide historical information on the partnership, and highlight a number of upcoming programs that continue to keep the Paradise as one of Faribault’s most visited destinations. A tour of the facility will also be offered.
The City holds Council Chats on the second Wednesday of every month to further its commitment to community engagement. These inclusive and welcoming opportunities are held at various locations and times to help ensure residents can become involved in the City’s continued success.
