This is your chance to build the dinnerware set you’ve always wished you had. The one that makes leftovers feel fancy and Tuesday night pasta feel intentional. Over six weeks, you’ll design and handbuild a cohesive, functional set from start to finish.
Week 1: We kick things off with planning and vibes. You’ll map out the look and feel of your set, then handbuild four bowls to set the tone.
Week 2: Create four medium plates or blates (those wide, low bowls everyone secretly loves) that tie right into your original plan.
Week 3: Build four cups, focusing on comfort, balance, and that “this is my favorite cup” feeling.
Week 4: Choose a final statement piece: a serving tray, butter dish, charcuterie board, or bring your own idea and we’ll help you make it happen.
Weeks 5 & 6: Glazing time. You’ll refine, and bring everything together with finishes that make your set feel complete and food-safe.
All pieces are handbuilt, no wheel required. Early on, you’ll choose the overall vibe of your collection: earthy, playful, minimalist, bold, cozy, or somewhere in between. We’ll help translate that vision into forms, textures, and glaze choices along the way.
You’ll also get Saturday studio access during the course to wrap up anything that didn’t quite get finished during class, because clay has its own sense of time. Will you be out of town one week? No biggie, we provide make up time and will get you caught up!
You’ll leave with a full dinnerware set, new skills, and the satisfaction of eating every meal off something you made with your own hands.
