Suwannee Valley Watermelon Institute - 2025

The “Suwannee Valley Watermelon Institute” is being planned for you on Thursday, December 4th, 2025. The University of Florida, IFAS County Extension agents throughout the region, the Suwannee River Partnership and area watermelon growers are working together to provide this opportunity. This meeting was started in 2009 to bring together the watermelon growers and the industry in our region once a year and this great history will continue in 2025

The 2025 Suwannee Valley Watermelon institute will be held at the Suwannee River Fair facility in Fanning Springs. This is where the event has been held in the last few years and quite successfully, we would add. We will plan to use the indoor facility for the entire event, including educational programs, trade show, and the lunch.

The format of the 2025 Suwannee Valley Watermelon Institute will begin at 9:00 am. and concludes at 2:45 p.m. The industry exhibitor area will be sponsored by watermelon industry suppliers and other allied watermelon industry supporters.

The 2025 Institute will include:

· Educational sessions and latest research findings

· Pesticide applicator CEUs

· Industry exhibits open from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm

· Networking social time with exhibitors

· Meet “your” Florida Watermelon Queen

Sponsorship is $200 and free to attendees.
