SYNOPSIS: Step into the mist-shrouded woods of colonial America, where superstition breathes and shadows whisper. Tracy Wells’ adaptation of Washington Irving’s timeless tale transforms Sleepy Hollow into a witty, eerie, and electrifying stage experience. In the isolated village of 1790 Sleepy Hollow, the arrival of Ichabod Crane—a lanky, curious schoolmaster with dreams of belonging—sets off a chain of strange events. Beneath the town’s quaint charm lurks something darker: rumors of a Headless Horseman galloping through the night, and villagers vanishing without a trace. As Ichabod’s heart tangles with the clever and captivating Katrina Van Tassel, his rivalry with the boisterous Brom Bones ignites both laughter and tension. The townsfolk bustle with gossip and fear, their humor as sharp as their suspicions. Wells masterfully blends comedy, romance, and spine-tingling suspense, breathing new life into Irving’s classic. Each performance crescendos toward a chilling finale—yet the
truth of what happens between Ichabod and the Horseman changes nightly. With multiple alternate endings, audiences become part of the mystery, deciding which legend will ride home in the dark.

OUTDOORS/SEATING: Dress warm and bring a blanket! Seating is general admission and the grove will be opened to the public at 5:45pm. BYOC! Bring your own chair or picnic blanket! We kindly ask to keep areas closest to the stage available for those with picnic blankets.
