The Dark Side of the Rainbow

Let's celebrate the Winter Solstice with the pairing of Pink Floyd's classic album Dark Side of the Moon with the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. This produces moments of apparent synchronicity where the film and album appear to correspond. The tradition is to play the album once, starting at the MGM lion’s third roar. After the album ends, the movie continues on its own.

All are welcome, and we especially want to invite crafters of all kinds—particularly knitters and crocheters. Feel free to bring a project and work on it during the film. We will have hot cocoa and light refreshments to keep things cozy.

Disclaimer: Members of Pink Floyd and the Dark Side of the Moon engineer Alan Parsons denied any intent to connect the album to the film. Detractors argue that the phenomenon is the result of the mind's tendency to find patterns by discarding data that does not fit.
